Obviously it happens more the busier my machine is and more stuff loaded but i would like to change some settings to get it to stop happening if possible. Whatever you use, version 12 version 15 for VMWARE, version 2.1 version 2.2 for GNS,VM VIX, static,dhcp, hostbinding everything. Workstation Player connects the device to the machine you select, but a remember option is also available, which creates a USB device connection rule that, in the future, directs Workstation Player to either automatically connect that device to the host or to a virtual machine, depending on the machine you selected. VMware Workstation 15 uses about 700 MB of disk space after installation and VMware Player 15 uses about 250 MB of disk space after installation. I cant do a screen capture of it because it only lasts a second, then it returns to normal. I have VMWare Player 15 and when im running VMs with windows 10, on a system with 32gb ram, the vm has 8gb or 12 gb of ram - no matter what I do, while im working i repeatedly get the screen going black to a small tiny windows bar in the top-left corner of the screen, with a light-blue dot on it. Earlier it was not free, but I see that VMware has made it available for free for non Commercial users. Apologies if this has been asked before and its probaby an easy question. VMware Workstation player is available free of cost.
